Day One= No more Excuses

8 years of marriage, 2 kids and 3 jobs later, this Mama has become quite the queen of procrastination and excuses. Now, with my 34th birthday coming and going, I have come to realize getting back in shape, running, toning, loosing weight, is NOT an easy battle! I have always had a struggle with my weight. It was not until after college that I decided to make an honest effort to get in shape. I created a healthy routine of going to the gym in the morning, before work, and sometimes I would go again after work. I started running and loved participating in 5Ks. It is one thing to have a good gym routine, it was another to have a healthy diet. I am not sure why it took me so long to figure this out- you can't out-run a bad diet.

6 months before getting married, I decided to hire a trainer and get in awesome shape for the wedding. That was hands down the best thing I ever did! He taught me about balancing diet and exercise. He held me accountable and made me want to succeed. That was the best $1,500.00 I ever spent! I was in great shape for the wedding and our Honeymoon. Then, after the wedding, Geoff and I went back into our old habits of happy hours, eating out, sleeping in and being lazy. It was soon after that I was pregnant with our first son. I had a bit of a rough pregnancy in that I could not run due to bleeding. After that, Baby wanted pizza and coleslaw! After I had Michael, I started back to the gym and running but it was hard. I did lose weight but everything fit different. 2 years later I was pregnant with James and went in the same cycle. Although I did not gain as much weight as I did with Michael, I still lost motivation and went back to my bad eating habits.
Fast forward 4 years, I am still hanging on to weight I gained with James and am ready to change, permanently. I want to be a healthy role model for my boys. I want to love myself and not shy away from the camera. I want to be in pictures with my boys, go to the beach and pool and not be so consumed with my own appearance that I miss out on the fun memories that are being made with my family.

So, I am determined, I am motivated and I am committed to making a healthy lifestyle for myself and my family. I figured this was a good way for me to hold myself accountable.
